RiXEngine, offers Ad Services, specifically developing and managing digital advertising technology platforms, and offering related services that facilitate the connection between buyers and sellers of advertising inventory (collectively, "Clients"). Our Ad Services include our ad exchange (“RixExchange”), traffic selling platform (“RixBid”), and ad delivery platform ("RixDSP”). Additionally, we're also involved in the research and development of software algorithms and APIs for developers. To gain a better understanding of our activities, we encourage you to learn about SSP, DSP, and DMP technologies.

1.2 About This Privacy Policy

RiXEngine is fully committed to safeguarding your data privacy and providing data protection. We therefore adhere to the principles of lawfulness, transparency, and fairness when dealing with personally identifiable information. As such, the following instances are covered in this Privacy Policy, which outlines the collection, usage, and disclosure of information, including personal information, by RiXEngine:

  • About individuals who visit and engage with our (i) corporate website at www.rixengine.com and other properties, be it on our (ii) official social media pages and (iii) email marketing, (iv) website subscriptions, and (v) other sales and marketing activities (collectively, RiXEngine Properties”).
  • About End-Users (“End-Users,” “you,” “your”) and the collection, usage, and processing of personal information through our technology on behalf of our clients, which include online advertisers, publishers, business partners, and other businesses utilizing RiXEngine advertisement materials, inventory, or services.

However, RixEngine's commitment may be impeded or restricted in the following circumstances: (a) when responding to a legal or ethical obligation; (b) when necessary to fulfill national security, public interest, or law enforcement obligations; and (c) when explicitly allowed by an applicable law, rule, or regulation.

1.3 Changes to This Policy

We will regularly review and revise this policy to incorporate any changes in our privacy practices. RiXEngine will clearly state the most recent revision date at the beginning of this policy. This Policy applies only to RixEngine Properties and Ad Services. It does not include the privacy and information-collection practices of any other third parties, including our Clients or partners who use or link to our Properties and Ad Services, unless specifically mentioned in this Policy.

When you use our website, apps, and other properties, you may be redirected to other websites, apps, and properties. Additionally, this policy does not encompass the collection, usage, and disclosure of information by other organizations such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, where RixEngine may also have social media pages.

Section II: Privacy for End-Users Other than Our Clients

2.1 What Information Do We Collect?

We make it a point not to gather any information that directly identifies you in the real world, such as your name, address, phone number, or social security number. However, our clients may utilize our services to handle sensitive data that originates from their websites, and they may process this data through our technology without our knowledge or control. Instead, we collect information about your computer or device using various technologies, which are explained below. The data we gather is not linked to your personal identity and is instead anonymous and generalized, which is typically not classified as personal information in most jurisdictions. However, in certain regions where we offer our services, specific types of information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and other unique identifiers associated with a particular computer or mobile device (e.g., in the European Union) may be considered personal information.

Some of the information that may be collected in relation to our Ad Services include the following:

  • Browser and device information received from publishers is shared with advertisers and agencies for responding to requests for advertisements, forecast advertising inventory and troubleshooting any operation issues; This includes:
    • Device Type: phones, smart tv, tablet, pc,
    • Device Manufacturer: Device make (e.g., “Apple”).
    • Device Mode: Device model (e.g., “iPhone”).
    • Device OS: Device operating system (e.g., “iOS”).
    • Device Language: (e.g., “English”)
    • Device carrier: Carrier or ISP (e.g., “VERIZON”).
    • Network connection type (e.g., “WIFI”, “Cellular-45”).
    • Device macmd5: MAC address of the device; hashed via MD5.
    • Device IFV: identifier of the device dedicated to an app publisher.
  • IP address,including both IPv4 and IPv6 (shared with DSPs (Demand Side Partners, which act on behalf of advertisers and agencies to bid on advertising inventory);
  • Geo-location data (town level) is used by DSPs to bid on advertising inventory which requires for user’s opt in for precise geolocation (long. and lat.) but not for geolocation at a town level;
  • UserIDs,stored in browser cookies by DSPs, are stored by DSPs for profiles on the ad servers;
  • Mobile device identifiers,(IFDA, AAID) are used to track mobile traffic and are shared with DSPs acting on behalf of advertisers and agencies to personalize the advertising displayed;
  • Data on whether a user viewed or clicked on an Ad is shared with DSPs acting on behalf of advertisers and agencies for the measurement of ad performance and statistics.
  • Authentication-derived identifiers: Identifiers derived from users’ email addresses or phone numbers through hash function (SHA-256, MD5, SHA-1…) which are deployed and received from publishers are shared with DSPs acting on behalf of advertisers and agencies to personalize the advertising displayed; no authentication-derived identifier is collected for EU audience.

2.2 How We Collect Information

We utilize a variety of tracking technologies to gather data, including cookies, pixel tags, SDKs, and APIs.

Cookies. Cookies are small data files containing a string of characters that store unique browser identifiers on your device to identify your browser when you visit our websites.

Pixel Tags. Also known as web beacons or pixels, pixel tags are blocks of code that can read and place cookies, allowing us to collect information such as IP addresses, access time, and browser type.

SDKs. A software development kit (SDK) are tools used by app developers to serve ads, collect data, and perform other necessary actions for our Ad Services.

APIs. An application programming interface (API) is used to call or request information, much like the SDK.

Mobile Device Identifiers. Also known as Mobile Device IDs, mobile device identifiers are unique identifiers used to identify mobile devices and used to track your mobile app usage, deliver targeted advertisements, and measure advertisement frequency.

2.3 How We Use the Information We Collect

The information we collect under our Privacy Policy or with your consent, which are both personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable, assists us in recognizing distinct browsers or devices utilized by End-Users and enable us to execute certain functions. These functions include assisting our clients in finding and purchasing advertising space, providing users with personalized advertising content, preventing the repetition of the same advertisement, and ensuring the proper display of ads on our publishers' applications and websites.

We may also directly use the information we collect for various purposes, such as creating advanced advertising segments, conducting analytics and forecasting inventory, and ensuring the quality of advertisements. We continuously improve our algorithms for targeting users with specific advertisements and measure the effectiveness of these advertisements. The collected user information is also utilized to enhance our services and develop new products, analyze the market, and generate performance reports. We may share information with our clients, partners, and service providers for these purposes, but individual users are not identified in the shared information. Furthermore, we use user information to protect against security breaches, investigate illegal activities, and maintain the integrity of our systems.

2.4 Information About Children

RixEngine's Properties and Ad Services are not designed for use or access by children or minors. We do not knowingly gather or request information from individuals under the age of thirteen (13). Section III: Privacy for Our Clients & Prospects

3.1 What Information Do We Collect?

Information Directly Provided By Client

Visitors using RixEngine Properties may be requested to provide personal information on a voluntary basis. This can happen when visitors sign up for a RiXEngine account, subscribe to our mailing list, complete a lead generation form on social media, or get in touch with us through our website. Typically, the information we gather comprises contact details (such as name, email, and phone number), personal details (such as company, job title, and office location), messages explaining the purpose of communication, and any attachments visitors may include.

Information That’s Automatically Collected

We utilize cookies and pixel tags on RiXEngine properties to gather data, which may be considered personal information in certain countries including EU member states, subject to the approval of EU resident clients. This data enables us to monitor visitor interactions, enhance our services, personalize user experiences, and facilitate ad retargeting.

Information About Children

RixEngine's Properties and Ad Services are not designed for use or access by children or minors. We do not knowingly gather or request information from individuals under the age of thirteen (13). 3.2 How We Use the Information We Collect

The information we collect on RixEngine Properties are be used for:

  • Account management. Create access to a RiXEngine account and provide specific data related to the use of our Ad Services
  • Marketing communications.Send out marketing and promotional messages regarding our products and services in line with your content preferences. You may opt out of our marketing communications at any time by following the steps detailed at “Section IV Control and Opt-Out Options”
  • Service messages. Sometimes, we may need to use this information to send out messages for administrative purposes such as to communicate changes in our terms of service, product policies, and other related updates.
  • Case studies and testimonials. With our Client’s explicit content, we may use personal information when drafting case studies and testimonials to be posted on the website. Should you wish to have this content removed in the future, you may do so by sending us a message with a link to the page where the content you wish to remove appears.
  • Customer service and support. The information you provide may also be used to contact you in response to a request for customer service or support or to provide more information as needed.
  • Analytics and Advertising. We use Google Analytics on our website and other social media and CRM analytic tools in our Properties to collect data for the purpose of research, analysis, and reporting. In some cases, this collected data may also be used for ad retargeting. You may check your opt out options in “Section IV Control and Opt-Out Options.”
  • Improving our products and services.Information collected will also be used to optimize user experience on our Properties, improve the content we provide, deliver more effective marketing campaigns, and manage our client relations.
  • Legal purposes and risk management.When necessary and under applicable laws, including those outside the End-Users’ country of residence, we may use this information to comply with legal requirements, mitigate risks and damages to our business and that of our clients, and fulfill other similar requirements.

Section IV: Control and Opt-Out Options

The RixEngine Opt-Out process outlines the necessary steps to request the removal or withdrawal of data utilized by our platform for internet-based advertising and cross-device targeting objectives, in compliance with the GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable Privacy Laws.

4.1 Opting-Out of Internet-Based Advertising from Cookies

Kindly be aware that this opt-out option relies on cookies. Therefore, if you make any changes to your browser, delete cookies, or switch to a different device, you will need to go through the process again and opt-out once more. Additionally, if your browser utilizes third-party cookie blockers, it might affect the functionality of our opt-out option button. If you wish to opt-out of any of our Clients' platforms, you can refer to their respective websites for specific instructions. Typically, you can find this information in their Privacy Policies or Web Opt-Out Policies.

4.2 Opting-Out of Internet-Based Advertising and Cross-Device Targeting on Mobile Devices

RixEngine believes that while targeted advertising is beneficial for all parties involved, we do not engage in any practices that bypass device settings. End-Users who would like to opt-out or receiving advertising from our Clients on our own apps and partner apps, can do the following:

  • iOS Users:Those with iOS 6.0 or higher can opt-out of most cross-app advertising by enabling “Limit Ad Tracking.” If you’re on iOS 7 or higher, go to Settings > Privacy > Advertising, and switch on “Limit Ad Tracking.” For those using iO6, go to Settings > General > About > Advertising, and switch on “Limit Ad Tracking.”
  • Android Users: You can opt-out of most cross-app advertising with your Android device by going to Google Settings > Ads > Select opt-out of internet based ads.

Take note that the steps above are subject to possible changes made by the above platforms. You should always contact the manufacturer for comprehensive information on how to withdraw your consent. If your device does not fall under the above categories, please check your device’s settings.

4.3 Opting-Out of Marketing Communications

To unsubscribe from RixEngine's promotional emails sent through direct email marketing, simply click the "Unsubscribe" button at the bottom of the email. Alternatively, you can reach out to us through the provided contact information. Please note that if you are a client, you may still receive emails pertaining to our business relationship.

Section V: Data Security & Data Transfers

5.1 Data Security

We employ a range of reasonable safeguards, both organizational and technical, to ensure the protection of the personal information we gather and handle. We have carefully designed these measures to offer an appropriate level of security, considering the potential risks involved in processing your personal data. Our aim is to ensure the safety and security of your data. Nonetheless, it is important to note that no electronic transmission or storage method is completely foolproof. 5.2 Data Transfers

We share the data collected from End Users in relation to our Ad Services. Here is a breakdown of when this information is shared:

  1. To Buyers and Advertisers:We share the information collected from End Users to enable buyers and advertisers to make decisions regarding purchasing advertising inventory on our publishers' websites and applications. This information is also used for billing purposes, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and to analyze the effectiveness and performance of advertising campaigns.
  2. To Our Clients' Attribution and Analytics Partners:We may share End User information, such as cookie IDs or mobile device IDs, with our clients' attribution and analytics partners. This is done to validate and measure the success and effectiveness of ads delivered through our Ad Services.
  3. To Clients (Agencies and Advertisers): We share End User data with our clients, such as agencies and advertisers, or with Demand Side Partners acting on their behalf. This allows them to provide targeted content and advertising to End Users on mobile websites and apps. They may also use the data in conjunction with analytics companies, data management platforms, proximity solution providers, and other advertising technology providers to deliver targeted content and advertising on third-party platforms.
  4. To Execute Business Transfers:In the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of our business, assets, or stock, we may share the information with a third party as necessary for the purpose of executing the business transfer.
  5. To Comply with Legal Requirements: If necessary and appropriate, we may share the information to comply with applicable laws, legal processes such as subpoenas and warrants, government authorities, and to protect our business, rights, privacy, and safety. This includes enforcing our terms and conditions, pursuing legal action, and mitigating damages related to such activities.

5.3 International Data Transfers

RixEngine, an advertising technology company located in Singapore, has servers located in the US, EU (Frankfurt), and Singapore. These servers are used for hosting and processing data collected from the respective regions. In order to comply with data transfer regulations, we may transfer your personal data to a different country than where it was originally provided. This transfer is done in accordance with the Standard Contractual Clauses provided by the EU Commission and the United Kingdom's International Data Transfer Agreement. Additionally, before transferring data to Singapore, we assess the regulatory framework in Singapore regarding data access. It is important to note that European End-Users' data is only shared with European Demand Side Platforms in the EU, who act on behalf of Advertisers and Agencies and are subject to GDPR.
